anxiety and calm

I really liked this video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IAVt-TDXq4g
What i liked about this video was how it used so many senses, like site and sound, and took advantage of them. One can clearly see what is going throught the author's mind. She has the feeling of anxiety and that her life is just one big mess. I believe that this is something that we can all realite to as college students or as just humans in general. Life isn't easy, we all go through our own anxieties and fears. However, like the end of the film, most of us find a way to the calm and confidence in ourselves and can hope for a new sort of future.

  1. As I watched this, I got the distinct sense of graphical skill but not storytelling skill. There were a lot of really stylish scenes that developed throughout the video, and the music seemed very slick, but the topic was only really touched on in one or two places, the rest of it felt like filler, or more like a digital portfolio for someone who's planning on designing logos and arverts for important, techy companies in the future. I couldn't get over the feeling that a few well-picked words in full sentences, along with music and visuals, would have worked a lot better than this alphabetical maelstrom.

  2. I agree with Andrew in that this video really only touched on the point I felt it was trying to make. Though visually stunning, it didn't do an amazing job developing the story. I also feel like the letters chosen, only those included in the word typography, could have been expanded and encompased the plot a little more. The confusion is evident in the visual concepts of the art though, and I was able to relate to the main character very well.
